On 19th Jan, our English Corner discussed the scandals in the tourists attractions in the northeast. Tourists are reported ripped off when visiting the tourist attractions. Besides, business was also reported difficult to operate in the northeast China when the businessman Mao Zhenhua was reported unfairly treated by the local government. Many people on the Internet criticize the people in the northeast being too bureaucratic and having bad public manner.
In the discussion, we mentioned the difficulties the region is facing, including the economic structure and the loss of labour. It is agreed that the loss of labor is a major problem the northeast is facing, because the loss of labor leads to the loss of innovation.
But we also pointed out that the most severe problem is that sometimes we fail to realize that we have a problem. It is fortunate that people can point out that the problem we have. Sometimes we cannot realize that we are facing a problem, because we take many phenomenon for granted. Although generalizing the people from the northeast having poor public manner is problematic, we should rethink our behavior when we communicating with people. Anyway, we will be generalized as people from the northeast rather than merely an individual.
